Help me compile a nice SUMMER MOVIE LIST!!!

It's summer and I want to watch lots of movies. Just finished a seminar on 1930's Hollywood so I am kinda precode/"golden era"d out but will gladly make time for something with Cukorian levels of wit and sass.

Things I want to see more of:

  • the 90's (really, like 89-96, both "canonical film" and fun fluff like First Wives Club and Party Girl and Altman's Ready to Wear which I adored)
  • really good horror, especially modern (last 10-15 yrs)
  • anything brightly colored and/or surreal
Things I want to avoid:
  • Anything as boring as The Last Emperor

So far my list is:

The Color of Pomegranates
Juliet of the Spirits (maybe--how is this, guys?)
Valerie and Her Week of Wonders

Totally Random Suggestions:
Cruel Intentions

Pulse
INLAND EMPIRE

Oh I have been meaning to see Pulse and also [REC], thx! Totally hated INLAND EMPIRE. I loved Blue Velvet and Mulholland Dr. and even Lost Highway sorta but IE was way too incoherent.

Oh god I ADORE New Nightmare. That and Lord of Illusions have to be the two best horror films of the 90s.

For further reference, I also loved Martyrs and Audition but thought A Tale of Two Sisters was underwhelming and really overrated.
