I'm likely going to at least 5 or 6 of these (all three Raul Ruiz features?), but for now I'm most interested in "Battle in Heaven" (by the "Japon" guy, tho someone said it has US distrib already) and "Eli, Eli, Lema Sabachtani?" (by the "Eureka" guy) and Kiyoshi Kurosawa's "Loft."

Looks interesting. I'll see if I can get to one or two.

I'd like to go to all the Ruiz, definitely the Stanley Kwan and a couple others.

I got tix for four of them. Nothing's sold out last I saw, but don't wait too long if there's just one evening screening.

I got tickets for Everlasting Regret, Loft, Ce Jour La, La Domaine Perdu and One Night. It appears that nothing is sold out. I'm still considerings the Eggleston, Shanghai Dreams, Workingman's Death and the Digital Shorts program.

Fwiw, I just found out that Workingman's Death opens at Cinema Village on the 25th.

Also, Battle in Heaven is opening 2 days after it plays. I am seeing it, Loft, La Domaine Perdu and Eli Eli Lema Sabachtani, possibly more if I can manage.

Are you not a Kwan fan or have you already seen Everlasting Regret?

Looks like I've never seen anything of his.

You can get everlasting regret pretty easily from chinatown, I'm betting.

two weeks pass...
Everything I saw was great--esp. Ce Jour-la and Stranded in Canton.

What did you make of Loft, Morbius?

Middling-to-good K Kurosawa, sort of a return to shadowy creepiness after Bright Future. The audience was laughing a lot more at the contrivances than I generally hear in one of his films.

The Aoyama film was pretty disappointing, but Ruiz's La Domaine Perdu is handsome and filled with wonder (tho my RR fanatic friend liked it even more than I did).
