one year passes...

I never saw this thread. I am saddened by the lack of response.

My favorite part of the movie comes in the middle of the hospital scene after the mob boss decides to take patients hostage.
"A cop's just a human being with a gun. He's not immortal. They've got guns, and so have but. They just have .38s." The music stops, and the boss makes a dismissive noise with his mouth. Awesome.

I have been endlessly re-watching Hard Boiled, The Killer, and A Better Tomorrow I and II while I have been broke. I think the ABT movies are real sleepers comparatively. They seem to be discussed less regularly. I sometimes think I like them more. These movies all have the feeling of late 80s more than anything else I know.
