saw it yesterday, i thought it was pretty OK, a competent and entertaining movie with some good performances (Hardy is the best, Pearce, Shia is actually tolerable). Nothing I'd see again, though. Who knew Nick Cave wrote the screenplay???

Okay, discovering that Nick Cave wrote the screenplay is literally the first thing about this movie that has piqued my interest at all.

I liked The Proposition quite a lot, but ev'thing I've read about this one is discouraging.

Worth seeing as a matinee for Guy Pearce's camp psycho lawman, if nothing else. I was kind of baffled by Gary Oldman's role, though, or I guess his lack of one- he's barely in it at all.

great year for movies with awful fucking titles

thomp, Monday, 10 September 2012 23:13 (twelve years ago)

the original title was cooler (the wettest county in the world). weinstein company specializes in taking cool titles and making them super generic

Hungry4Ass, Monday, 10 September 2012 23:30 (twelve years ago)

this movie vs gangster squad vs the two other fucking movies i've forgetten already because their titles were fucking useless

Did the opposite, avoiding it like the plague.

This was surprisingly underwhelming. The most horrible, shocking thing about it, though, is that little shit Shia LaBeouf happens to be the best thing in it.
