...and it was the biggest and most showman type show I've ever seen. Fantastic. Loudest crowd ever. Best smelling audience ever. (most of which were women in their 40s on the average... thank you for the pretty smells, ladies.) It was pretty much a hits medley show... I did my homework and listened to Musicology the previous two weeks, but only to hear just two songs off the album get a live treatment: "Musicology" and "Life O' The Party". (Of course, I'm glad I did the homework cuz that album is in my brain now.) Prince said "SEEEE-AAAATTTLLE!" more times that show than I've heard the entire four years I've been here.

Chaki, do you remember offhand the vague playlist from the shows you saw earlier this year in the So Cal area? Like familiar songs/medleys, more obscure songs, mega excelsior jams on certain songs, highlights, encores, etc.?

It was a lot of the hits, mostly from Purple Rain, although he went ALL over the place.. he did "Ssssh" from The Gold Experience,
in the Purple Rain medley, it ended with "Baby, You're A Star excelsior". He did this INSANE "Controversy excelsior" jam that was at least 12 minutes. At one point, Prince through his guitar down and said "I give up, that's it I quit". He crashed onto one of the cushy bags on the corners of the stage with the crowd roaring for more, and a slight playful smirk on Prince's face as he would just get up, pick up the guitar, and kick right back into the Controversy Exclesior again.

"I Feel For You" and "I Wanne Be Your Lover"!!!!! Holy Shit! all the way back to 1979. Also "D.M.S.R.", and just a lot of stuff... it was basically the Hits tour, essentially. I almost kinda wished it was the Musicology And Some Hits And Some Obscurities show, and it almost was.. but still, the show was fantastic, and it ruined live music for me for a long long long time.
