besides the rolling indie thread these threads are usually pretty pleasant but usually worthless, only notable when someone like ethan shows up in an m.i.a. thread

cutty is the best poster about indie music on ilm

rtc is pretty contrarian i dunno! he's less rigid than vahid tho, thus the alex in baltimore part

tim is easily my favorite ilm poster by far but around '05-'06 he and i started parting ways. i think hes too balaeric for me now :(

im still with him on techno + house shit though, incl. that piece he wrote for idolator on freemasons A+++++

part of why i post like rss feeder type shit on ringtone is partly because of clowning but mostly because i figure if i go "this new b.o.b. song" people will go "yeah it's great etc. etc." if they wanna talk about it and that will get discussion rolling

ilm is frequently pretty atrocious. too much posturing. if that board came to life one day it would be this one dude i knew at lol college that annoyed the shit out of me. every time i read a really obnoxious, try-hard post, of which there are many, that guy's face flashes up in my mind, like salt in the wound. i've learned to skim read so i can avoid the worst parts though, so i am ok with it now.
