Is There A Tutorial On How To Post Images and Photographs?

I'm not very tech-savvy, and I doubt I'd use these options often, but it would be nice to be able to, from time-to-time, post an image, photograph or even one of those moving-image .gif's I see on various threads. Is there a tutorial of some sort for these things?
