Just be thankful the babytalk brigade don't share your flair for remembering recent-ish bad-news stories. Otherwise it's another needless buttfight and nobody wants to see that.

I actually quietly unbanned him for a week or so not so long ago, just to see whether the ban really was the safety fence holding him back, and whether we'd suddenly see a load of posts going 'THATS NOT WHAT I THINK ABOUT PURESSENCE!' Never happened.
