rolling threads like glasgow and mollify lingbert are effectively just long-term chatrooms that are notable and may affect ILX discourse but really aren't steady components of ILX mythology like 300 lbs banging against the wall.

gear's couch = something everyone can participate in and enjoy
chatroom threads = something no one really pays attention to outside of their few regulars (or chaki when he complains about how boring they are)
