These camps, plus many others throughout New Zealand, show that the Brethren churches have a keen interest in Christian camping, and have potential to reach our nation for Jesus Christ.

i went to a near-christian camp when i was a kid. it was sort of unofficial, though. 3 weeks in the wilderness of minnesota with my grandparents at a small cabin, going to church constantly, trying to make up for 49 other weeks of being a heathen.

i saw mark kozelek play a show at this unitarian church in town a few weeks ago, and one of his funnier in-between songs spontaneous comments consisted of him remarking how the setting made him feel like he was taking part in some "Christian Maturity Weekend" program.
there were funny pseudo-mandalic banners hanging up behind him...

I went to a couple of school organised retreats and they were basically team building events with added Jesus. I met a bishop at one and he showed me his ring.
