wish i still had a camera. i wanted to take so many pictures at my fam reunion a few weeks ago. farm's been in my family since 1868, according to my great uncle/wherever he dug up this info.

i knew the farm had been around a while, but i thought, like, depression-era a while. however long it was there's still virgin sod somewhere on the west end of the property. and there used to be a sod dugout. my great uncle found a fugio penny in it when they finally tore it down. there's a 100 yr or so old granary still up and there was this weird series of moments at the reunion where different members of the fam walked up and each told some story they had that was connected to it. like each generation had a story. i felt like i was in some awful Garrison Keillor bullshit. it was so great.

btw i talked to my dad on the phone abt the eye infection and he said its "probably fine"

these poor dudes have been cooped up for weeks because of the weather. today they got out for the first time and frolicked. They went right through the electric fence and we were all "hang on now stall the ball lads" Also they were eating kale bc we grew a field of kale so they could graze more in winter. This was my dads idea but it kindof smells bad bc of how much of it got destroyed by the snow. There is still plenty tho. You should see these guys frolick!
