That's DS for Darren Scott according to Wisden but since he came back from injury it could be Diddly Squat, which is roughly the amount of runs he has very roughly scored since his comeback.

In fact Darren 'Scott No Runs'' batting has been so unconvincing that the DS might stand for 'Don't Select' when Trev and the boys roll the barrel for the SL tour.

Get off his back, Fred. He's dealing with more than the comeback from injury, and we will need good players of spin in Sri Lanka.

What was he supposed to do - make a double century in his first game?
So far he's dooing better than Blee did.

I raised this question over at the ABC.

There are a lot of extenuating factors in his recent poor form, but his form is really poor. Five innings and probably not over 100 runs in total and he has also been dropped several times aswell. I think that with one good innings- or at least some time in the middle- and the selcetors can't not take him, but we are still wainting for that innings

There is still a massive question mark over Martyn's ability to score runs and it would seem rather risky to carrry both Lehamnn and Martyn into the first test on the back of very ordinary form.

Well he isn't in the ODI ssquad. Not sure whether anything can be read into that regarding the test squad.

I think you can read that he'd better make some runs in the Pura Cup before the test squad is picked or he won't go.
Katich is his natural replacement and perhaps Clarke will get the nod before Boof if he doesn't up his game.

I don't agree with that policy, FWIW.

Poseiden (Poseiden), Monday, 9 February 2004 06:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Tomorrow -second innings of SA Vic game would, I presume, be his last chance before test squad is announced. Puts a bit pressure on him. What does he need. I would suggest anything over 50 that looks convincing would do the job.

Lehmann must be feeling the need to make some runs. He has put himself in at first drop following an unusually solid opening from SA.

Sorry bumsteer from cricinfo. Blewett at 3 as listed.

Honestly powwow - you should know better by now than to trust Witless CrocInfo. Any information from them is a non-core promise.

Was today's effort the one innings Trev and his merry men have been sweating on to ink his name back in? I noticed Love failed at exactly the wrong time again today...

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Sunday, 15 February 2004 10:13 (twenty-one years ago)

He still has the Moo Cow Cup starting today. I think that 63 off 63 balls sounds like he might still be able to bat. I didn't see the innings so I have no idea whether it was convincing or whether he was dropped five times and bowled twice of no-balls.

It seems that Ponting would push to have him in the team. Punter seems to like batting with Boof and consults with him an awful lot. The captian's backing another score over 50 in the upcoming game and he should get a ticket to SL.

powwow (powwow), Sunday, 15 February 2004 23:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Another failure. I think he is trying to convince the selectors not to take him.

Diddly Squat...er 200 and still going I believe. Shame on you Boof for not being a Victorian!

What was that someone said about a double century . . . ?

Shame on you, you nay-sayers and Boof-doubters.
