Seems like I've been given the bum's rush from c4 for a while.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

What on earth for?

ojitarian (ojitarian), Friday, 5 March 2004 02:26 (twenty-one years ago)

'Abusive posts' according to the email. I tried to clog pusman's posts by filling the screen by top-to-tailing 'pusmansawanker' with copy & paste, and on another usman thread I held the z key down with a pile of $2 coins for about 3-5 mins while I left the keyboard to do something else, and entered the lot when I came back. It had to be that, couldn't have been anything else.

Most of usman's threads have gone and apparently Matthew is on the bench as well.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Friday, 5 March 2004 02:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I held the z key down with a pile of $2 coins for about 3-5 mins

Quality. :-) I'll have to remember that one.

ojitarian (ojitarian), Friday, 5 March 2004 02:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Of course, it would be much quicker to just hold the 'z' key down for a few seconds, copy what's there and paste it repeatedly.

When did all of this happen, anyway? Sometime last night?

Ross (Ross), Friday, 5 March 2004 05:23 (twenty-one years ago)

We're missing you already FN.

Noodles, Friday, 5 March 2004 05:35 (twenty-one years ago)

*hands Fred a hammer* break those smartass rocks!

Cleavy, Friday, 5 March 2004 05:55 (twenty-one years ago)

cheer up Fred...we will have to use your site more while you are suspended

rd's auntie, Friday, 5 March 2004 06:36 (twenty-one years ago)

"for a while"?

You reckon they'll grant you parole eventually? Hope so, we need your wit to battle the morons.

BTW, nice tricks. Couldn't have been done to a more deserving poster.

tailender (tailender), Friday, 5 March 2004 07:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, and good job Matthew copped it finally, after setting up bliksem. Thosee mods are almost as inconsistent as the idiots who mangle the ex-forum.

tailender (tailender), Friday, 5 March 2004 07:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Fred
You can always get a few tips from VoR on how to crawl to the C4 mod. It worked for him. ;-)

Big Dog (Big Dog), Friday, 5 March 2004 08:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I won't do a VoR. That is fact.

Thanks for your support folks. The worst thing about it isn't being banned, it's being lumped together with two prize galoots like pusman and Matt the Prat.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Friday, 5 March 2004 08:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Greetings Fred,

I don't bother c4 and no doubt your quarry IS a tosspot but of course you are going to get the ar5e for calling someone a WayneCarey a thousand times.

I thought you would be far more subtle, slowly drawing your unsuspecting victim in with a delicate, probing form of trolling which is replied to by a stream of outright, moronic abuse which leaves your opponent off line and you free to post and revel in the fruits of your victory as the abuse directed at you says more about the poster than it does about you.

It seems you have lied down with the dogs and woken up with the fleas. Better luck next time old chap.

regards,

REB

Rik E Boy (Rik E Boy), Saturday, 6 March 2004 00:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Shocking grammar. Shocking spelling. Same old story...good to get in before the pedants...

regards,

REB

Rik E Boy (Rik E Boy), Saturday, 6 March 2004 00:49 (twenty-one years ago)

No Reb, you want to get in after the pedants have well and truly left. :o)

Now, where do I start . . . ?

tailender (tailender), Saturday, 6 March 2004 07:41 (twenty-one years ago)

The amazing thing was that you can't type 'wank' (or any derivative of it) on c4 without it being automatically converted into asterisks but other swear-words which I always thought were much 'naughtier' go through without a murmur. Maybe the Ed assumes any use of that word is a reference to himself.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Saturday, 6 March 2004 07:51 (twenty-one years ago)

w@nk used to work, but I always just use "Hadlee".

It was good for getting a rise out of Matthew as well . . .

tailender (tailender), Saturday, 6 March 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

After the way the music thread's turned in the last five minutes, I would probably use 'Yes fan'.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Saturday, 6 March 2004 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Well you better do something, because arseman's back and just as much a Hadlee as ever.

tailender (tailender), Saturday, 6 March 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

So is C4 where everyone plays these days???

What is the URL?

Bennö (Bennö), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 01:22 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.channel4.com/sport/cricket/

Then 'forum'

Get in there and give 'em buggery! You'll have to register, it takes a couple of days.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 01:34 (twenty-one years ago)

yay benno...come and have some fun....only drawback is that VoR is in his full pomp and amazingly immune from being modded, unlike Fred...

my scally wag nephew (RD) and various others are there too

rd's auntie, Tuesday, 9 March 2004 02:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Onya Bennö, not many more left to join the fray. :o)

tailender (tailender), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 07:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Well played last night Taily. What a bunch of sooks.

RD, Tuesday, 9 March 2004 22:32 (twenty-one years ago)

They've finally condscended to get back to me after nearly a week and my options are, suck serious ass like VoR did or goodbye.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 02:07 (twenty-one years ago)

so they banned your IP? and you can't get on using a different username?

Cleavy, Wednesday, 10 March 2004 04:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes to a), and I an working on b).

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 04:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, all you have to do is act amazed that anyone could possibly have been offended by your behaviour, and promise that you will do better in the future. Then just return to your usual circumspect behaviour.
You usually have more sense than to go so overboard. You survived a long time at the ABC before being sin-binned the first time.

Right dummy spit by c4 doing that to you, though, given what some people have gotten away with.

RD: Gee thanks. Sometimes being reasonable works. It even got me a commendation from you big hunk. ;)

tailender (tailender), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I've sent off another email to the ed, asking for information. Polite but assertive. If what he asks is reasonable I'll comply. If he wants his ego stroked with a grovelling apology and a promise to Be A Good Boy In Future he should have gone to VoR again.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 13:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Come on Fred ... grovel, and come back ...

They don't have to know it's insincere ...

pieman (pieman), Sunday, 14 March 2004 07:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm still waiting for a reply to the email I mentioned in my last post.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Sunday, 14 March 2004 08:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Surely it doesn't take that long to respond? After all, if they let the arseman back on so soon . . .

tailender (tailender), Sunday, 14 March 2004 10:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe the arseman wan't banned, maybe he just disappeared at the same time as Matthew and me so everybody assumed he had copped the same treatment.

He's only been back on the once since, as far as I can tell.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Sunday, 14 March 2004 10:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Under that name, yes.

At last count he's used four others, and keeps getting the arse with each one.

tailender (tailender), Monday, 15 March 2004 07:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Horrie, WTF happened?

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 18 March 2004 01:11 (twenty-one years ago)

"Invader Zim

posted March 18, 2004 12:26

Thanx for all your support."

Likewise, IZ.
(If anybody wants to c&p this into C4, thread 'don't worry stay wozzie', be my guest.)

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 18 March 2004 01:37 (twenty-one years ago)

The problem I have with C4 is that it takes so long for it all to download, I can't see the poster's name on the smae screen as the message -without moving the cursor across. And half the screen is clogged up with the stupid little smiley face graphics and the "signatures"

If there anyway to change the configuration of it so that it is more manageable for my clapped out old MAc?

powwow (powwow), Thursday, 18 March 2004 03:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Is "sandgroper" another alias of "waboy" from the ABC forum? His ramblings seem even more inane and ill-informed on C4, and given the competition, that's saying something.

ojitarian (ojitarian), Thursday, 18 March 2004 05:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, sandgroper is waboy, also known as 'Einstein', or Baldrick to HWATSSOO III's Blackadder. Back at the original ABC forum he was 'sandgropper'

Definitely has a couple of PF keys missing.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 18 March 2004 05:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Never mind PF keys (whatever they are), I think he has a couple of chromosomes missing. As do quite a few Wozzies, it seems.

ojitarian (ojitarian), Thursday, 18 March 2004 05:43 (twenty-one years ago)

The PF keys run right across the top of your keyboard. I was just trying to use a lame metaphor indicate that he has less than the traditional number of oars in the water.

They're all full of bluff and bulldust, especially VoR. Their hero Damien Martyr is still in, on 80, Aus still have six wickets to fall and they're talking as if the innings is as good as over. Come the crunch they don't rate him either.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 18 March 2004 05:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah - of course, PF = Programmable Function. Never mind me.

I think the Aussies are one wicket away from another collapse, but hopefully they'll prove me wrong. This partnership will pretty much decide the match IMHO.

ojitarian (ojitarian), Thursday, 18 March 2004 05:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Agreed oj. I'll feel more comfortable if these put on another 100. Hopefully the rest of them can put together 50-80.

Has Tilly got the field spread? If he has, he really should be going for the kill now before it is too late from the Lankan point of view.

powwow (powwow), Thursday, 18 March 2004 06:20 (twenty-one years ago)

still no C4 pass, Fred?

pieman (pieman), Friday, 19 March 2004 06:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Still no word. And I still can't get in. They've obv blocked my ISP and email, and because I basically couldn't give enough of a flying arse about it I haven't found the time to create a new email at a new outlet and get back in that way.

I also wouldn't be surprised if it turned out they were monitoring my comments on here.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Friday, 19 March 2004 07:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I doubt that Fred!

It's a shame there's not more of a "critical mass here" though ... it's probably the quickest and least "clunky" of the 3-4 fora I visit (C4 and Nath's, occasionally I still have a look in at ABC if I'm not feeling queasy).

I intend to take a long holiday, perhaps a permanent one, from C4 after this series finishes.

cheers

pieman (pieman), Friday, 19 March 2004 07:10 (twenty-one years ago)

If you like Fred, I could lend you my spare tag. Haven't used it, so it's all brand shiny new. Let me know, and I'll leave the details in your mailbox at Nath's.

tailender (tailender), Friday, 19 March 2004 07:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Have you had a look at the Big Footy Cricket Forum?
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=21

The conversation seems a bit more intelligent than ABC or C4.
They even ask trivia occasionally!
LOL
