MacDill & Hodge v The Crowds

'VICTORIAN batsman Brad Hodge yesterday accused Queensland cricket fans of spitting at the Bushrangers four years ago and declared he was ready to avenge two unsuccessful Pura Cup finals against the Bulls.'

http://townsvillebulletin.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,7034,8832321%255E23212,00.html (MacGill article on Muruli, written by our old mate Malcolm Conn)

VoR has of course decided they are a pair of sooks, and by his usual methods of bluff, bluster and bullshit he has taken most of C4 along with him. But what does THIS forum think?

(Personally, if MacDill is talking about the kind of imbecile who boos Aus players for pinching their local hero's spot (Katich, Healy, etc) he is probably right. Not only can a fair whack of those halfwits not tell if Muruli's elbow is straight or not, they can barely distinguish between it and his arse.)

(PS: For the experts: How can I create a link like the one above and cut the text in the link back to 'look here' or whatever?)

Thanks OJ, it works. So how do I do it?

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 04:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Fred, to insert a link, type in the following:

"this text appears in the message ", without the outside quotes,

which should give you

this text appears in the message

ojitarian (ojitarian), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 04:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry, that didn't work. I'm trying to type the HTML without it being interpreted to show you what I mean. Hang on a tic...

ojitarian (ojitarian), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 04:42 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, here's how to do it. Type

[a href="http://your/URL/here"]this text appears in the message[/a]

Replace "[" by a "less than" symbol and "]" by a "greater than" symbol in the above to get the correct HTML syntax. This should give

this text appears in the message

which, if you check the link properties, should point to the right place.

To comment on the original post, I have a somewhat irrational hatred of Stuart MacGill, but he has a point here.

Westralians are famous for booing Aussie players, just ask Ian Healy.

At the G in Dec 1992 the local lamebrains couldn't decide which particular individual 'stole' Deano's place so they booed everybody.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 05:37 (twenty-one years ago)

LOL. Maybe they should have done a Viv Richards and booed Bob Simpson.

They probably did, over unrelated matters.

If everyvbody who called Bob Simpson a wanker was ruled out of national selection, there wouldn't be 11 eligible people left in Australia.

You are on fire today Fred!
