Bichel: another case of aggravated pacifier projection?

Bichel 17 overs, 103 runs. They would still be crap figures if we were playing one day cricket.

If, as the canetoad contingent are bound to be muttering on other forums, he is all cut because that nasty mean Captain didn't give him the new ball, he needs to bloody well snap out of it for all kinds of reasons.

Otherwise, when Lee and McGrath get fit, or next time Williams (or Inness or Wright) gets a bagful, he could find himself in the grandstand, and at his age he might well be staying there for the rest of his days.

A pity Williams blotted his copybook with a few ill chosen comments. Remains to be seen how this will effect his selection chances. Looks like McGrath will now miss the whole series. Both Lee & Wright are struggling in their current games & Innes is an unknown quantity at test level.
I reckon they will have no choice but to stick with Bix....at least in the short term.

Bichel's bowling has been dreadful, anybody else would be a better choice. Wouldn't be overly surprised if Lee was rushed back into the squad for Adelaide.

Sod Willo's blotted copybook, he's the best bet at this stage, and if Bix can't turn it on at the Gabba, how is he going to go elsewhere?

Much as I like Bix, I shudder to think of that sort of bowling at Adelaide. With the Indians finding their feet at the crease, we can't afford to carry a bowler.

After such an atrocious performance yesterday, we are seeing the real Andy B today: seven balls of play have produced a wicket to himself and a great outfield catch off Dizzy. Both batsmen out at their overnight score....and he just nearly nailed 'Sydney' Harbarjan.

it's early in the day Fred, your early form is scratchy ...

northshore would have been more obscure

To be fair to Bix, it must be difficult bowl with the giggles of horace echoing around the stadium. All you could do to yesterday's effort was laugh.

Welcome aboard 'Coons.

The poor bastard also found himself fielding in the outfield for long periods yesterday, ankle deep in mud from where ccc had been crying his eyes out.

noone tried harder than Bix yesterday...if only his artistry with peeling oranges could be translated to bowling the red orange on a decent length

horace, Monday, 8 December 2003 00:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks for the welcome Fred.

I'm sure the sight of SRW standing on his stumps was enough to keep the Tears of a Clown at bay.

Sage point old roman. It's a pity for Qbillies that some times effort aint no substitute for talent.

Maybe Bix just had an off day.

Like Tugga's first innings effort . . .

tailender (tailender), Monday, 8 December 2003 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Bix has had a wonderful career and gave it everything he had, but he has reached the end of the road. It's not just an off day, he has been very ordinary all summer.

Even setting the Martyn effort aside, Steve did nothing to suggest he's indispensible eother.
