Stuck in Perth while Test team assembles: Has Brad been had?

A few lesser sardines on the ABC forum are suggesting Willo is effectively unavailable for Adelaide because he won't finish his Pura match in Perth in time to join the Test squad.

If so, the selectors may be hamstrung from choosing what they consider the best possible Australian team by the oddities of the Pura Cup program. This has to be an unsatisfactory situation for all concerned.

Tait and Cleary may be warming up, lest there is an injury on the eve of the game ... boofer would be pleased

I heard this morning that there are no Perth to Adelaide flights this evening, so the only way he can get there is to pull out of the Pura match and fly today....

what a sook.

play today, charter a flight this evening, and mix drinks as required tomorrow. Without comment. Penance then served.

Well said pieman, simple really isn't it?

Pieman, why the sook accusation? Williams hasn't said a word. I was highlighting how bone-headed the schedule was. Which particular individual got a bad break or a good break out of it is irrelevant.

A complete stuff-up from CA.
Seems like they decided on the eve of the first test that they would be playing an unchanged side for the second, no matter what the performance in Brisbane was.

Or someone can't read a tour schedule.

Williams is flying out today to join the squad in time for practice tomorrow.

He will leave the ground at the tea break this afternoon.

So if Williams has to bowl before tea he can just treat it as a warm-up net session and then he wouldn't have missed any training by the time he joins the other Australians tomorrow.

I take it all back.
Brilliant planning by CA.

Fred, tis but a joke ...

pieman (pieman), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 02:59 (twenty-one years ago)

CA, or your comment, pie?

tailender (tailender), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 06:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Mine. Fred was the last fish I expected to catch.

CA is always a joke.

pieman (pieman), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 06:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Makes it all the more rewarding when the catch is unexpected.
