Listening to Baseball Today ... Olney really doesn't think Posada can play catcher for much longer.

He had a pretty rough passed ball on opening night.

How long until they go get someone?

He had a pretty rough passed ball on opening night.

This was the Ortiz AB that got Youk home right? Seemed that Joba (?) missed the low inside corner by about 5 feet and the ball sailed way up and over. Sure he could have done a better job jumping up and trying to bat it down but Joba (?) did him no favors on that.

✌.✰|ʘ‿ʘ|✰.✌ (Steve Shasta), Tuesday, 6 April 2010 17:41 (fifteen years ago)

Maybe. Olney says that Posada was fucking up a lot in spring games, which I cannot confirm or deny.

He didn't look crossed up on that play, he looked embalmed.

J Ellsbury stole second, J Ellsbury safe at third on throwing error by catcher J Posada.

how many BOS-NYY games in the last ten years have rounded off to less than 4 hours? Amazing that kids who can't walk 20 feet w/out texting aren't fans...

so was the yankees game the only one today that didn't fill ILBB with woe? (depends on your POV, I guess)

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 13 April 2010 21:57 (fifteen years ago)

lolllllllll

Hideki Matsui wasn’t the only former Yankee at the Stadium on Tuesday collecting his World Series championship ring. Jerry Hairston Jr., who now plays for the Padres, surprised his old teammates by taking a red-eye flight after his game Monday in San Diego to take part in the ceremony.

When Jorge Posada spotted Hairston in front of the dugout, he shook his head and asked why he was there.

“I flew here,” Hairston said.

“Why?” Posada asked.

Teixeira's quite the weasel, eh?

Illwario Alacarte (Andy K), Saturday, 24 April 2010 13:34 (fifteen years ago)

Teixeria enjoys Broadway musicals. His favorite is Les Miserables (from Wikipedia). There is also a Teixiera Bakery in Jersey. Sometimes you can see their trucks going over the GWB. No relation, sadly.

calstars, Saturday, 24 April 2010 13:40 (fifteen years ago)

"I wasn't trying to hurt him," Teixeira said. "I was trying to score the run and knock the ball loose."

Right.
