In their two years as Yankees teammates, Teixeira has been intentionally walked in front of Rodriguez on nine occasions. The only time Rodriguez was credited with an out in his batting line was last June 12. And all that happened that time was the most memorable moment for both New York teams in the 2009 regular season: Luis Castillo dropped a Rodriguez popup, two runs scored and the Yanks walked off to beat the Mets.

In the other times, Rodriguez is 5-for-5 with two walks, a sacrifice fly and 18 RBIs. And . . . wait for it . . . Rodriguez has now hit a grand slam each of the last three times Teixeira received an intentional pass.

Cito intentionally walked Tex to get to Arod/Cano in one of the weirdest moves ever.

yeah i never understood that move, for one thing a-rod always seems to own in that situation, but (1) teixeira sucks atm (2) teixeira has bad numbers against that dude and (3) freaking cano was coming up next!

i'm guessing he was hoping for the double play at that point, with 1 out.

and this is actually kinda a weird trade because of that...by trading montero the yankees are finally admitting that he can't catch, since he'd be an untradably good prospect if he was a catcher, especially now that mauer's locked up in MIN

essentially the mariners have to be happy with the idea of montero at 1B/DH to do this

yeah montero definitely had no place on the yankees, its kinda funny that they have their first elite hitting prospect in ages and they have to trade him away

I can see Montero being a huge bust only because hes going to the Mariners. That and I tried to draft him as a keeper on my fantasy team, which turns gold into lead.

well he's closer to the majors in seattle than he was in NY so that can't be bad for his fantasy status

i guess he'll be hitting in a park that steals a few would-be home runs though since he's a RH hitter

also the yankees have a prospect behind him who isn't AS GOOD of a hitter but he's been hitting really well in the minors and can actually play the position
