and this is actually kinda a weird trade because of that...by trading montero the yankees are finally admitting that he can't catch, since he'd be an untradably good prospect if he was a catcher, especially now that mauer's locked up in MIN

essentially the mariners have to be happy with the idea of montero at 1B/DH to do this

I can see Montero being a huge bust only because hes going to the Mariners. That and I tried to draft him as a keeper on my fantasy team, which turns gold into lead.

well he's closer to the majors in seattle than he was in NY so that can't be bad for his fantasy status

i guess he'll be hitting in a park that steals a few would-be home runs though since he's a RH hitter
