WC's got the same hit / miss ratio as most rumor guys, with (unfortunately for him) the addition stigma of that Pete Rose fiasco. Hate him for his occasional lapse into Larry King speak, not for his spotty sources.

the problem is that he constantly takes obvious (spotty) hearsay & then regurgitates it as fact so he can make news, with consistently embarrassing results. not to be read or trusted.

im not sure what david means by 'larry king speak', but the routine arrogance with which he says what he says is whats so off-putting - sure thats common among sportswriters but theres a big difference between stating personal opinions with authority & stating other peoples opinions/speculation as solid fact, which is carroll's completely laughable schtick

Yeah -- frees LaRoche from that retarded purgatory he was thrust into because of Torre's luv affair w/ Blake DeWitt, gives them a good-to-go cheaper Nady clone in Moss, a 21-year-old high-ceiling pitching prosect in Morris, and, um, a young reliever (w/ potential, obv) that's been beyond awful in MLB to this point.

Dodgers, meanwhile, are probably going to use Manny to cockblock Matt Kemp s'more, which is just awesome for the rest of the West.
