anibal's story is pretty amazing... threw a no hitter at a super young age and then couldn't stay healthy at all PLUS his infant son gets bit by a mosquito of dengue fever but then he gets healthy and becomes one of the 15 or so best pitchers in baseball

i haven't looked up the exact number but i believe the tigers have hit into 90 double plays in this series

anibal is sixth in fangraphs WAR for pitchers since 2010 (ahead of david price, hamels, greinke, halladay, wainwright, shields, cain etc). dude is wild underrated.

A couple of interesting tidbits — at No. 11 on the list in Uehara again in 2011. No. 12 on the list? Pedro. That was 2000, his WHIP was 0.737. And when you consider he threw three times the innings of the rest of these guys, when you consider that his strikeout-to-walk that year was 284-well, it’s no wonder many believe Pedro’s 2000 season was the best season in baseball history.

MLB rules require a pitcher, with no one on, to deliver the ball within 12 seconds of receiving it. Buchholz is taking 18-22 seconds.
