― Bee OK, Thursday, 8 September 2016 01:01 (eight years ago) link

Time to find a new closer imo.

two run lead going into the 9th and they blow it again.
― Bee OK, Thursday, 8 September 2016 04:05 (eight years ago) link
stunning
it getting to the point to how is this even possible? the Giants had the best record going into the all-star break with over 50 wins.

Every time a Giants fan uses the words "want" or "deserve," an angel gets its wings ripped off, a puppy is set on fire, a bumfight is paid for with two greasy five dollar bills, and the Giants lose another game.
― aaaaaaaauuuuuuuuu (melting robot) (WilliamC), Thursday, 8 September 2016 21:54 (eight years ago) link
This historical collapse is maybe what the Giant's fans deser... what they needed. I became a fan of the club (and of baseball) in 2012, and yet I have never felt closer to the team than this season.
― Van Horn Street, Friday, 9 September 2016 03:20 (eight years ago) link
that is very interesting. no-one had a change against the Giants after that Reds game. i was on pens and needles and ever pitch seemed like an hour. then Zito and the Panda did the rest.
i moved to San Francisco in 1995. came from Southern California and could care less about sports. the Bay Area is different and made me a sports fan. 2002 was the second year i watched baseball. it was the NFL that got me hooked. the Giants are my love thou.

did anyone see what Bochy did last night?
It was a brilliant one. He had Cory Gearrin start the 12th for one out, then sent him to left field while Javier Lopez pitched to Lamb. It was the first time a Giants pitcher played a position other than on the mound since Noah Lowry in 2005, and the first time a Giants pitcher had gone to play a position and return to the mound since Keith Comstock did it in 1987. Lopez walked Lamb, who stole second base after Gearrin re-entered. Paul Goldschmidt was walked intentionally. But Gearrin got the benefit of a 3-2 pitch on the edge of the strike zone to Welington Castillo, drawing an immediate wail of protest from the batter and an ejection. Gearrin then battled Yasmany Tomás in an eight-pitch at-bat and the five-hour, 23-minute game ended with a ground out to second base, along with sighs of relief in the visiting dugout.

getting excited again. i guess a four game winning streak helps.

Joe Maddon has done the "have a pitcher play outfield then come back to pitch" thing a couple of times this season, usually with Travis Wood.

can't even beat San Diego, they swept us coming out of the all-star break.
― Bee OK, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 23:34 (eight years ago) link
now they buried us and the Giants playoff hopes.
― Bee OK, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 23:35 (eight years ago) link
they should just lose the rest of their games. it would be embarrassing to make the wild card at this point.
― Bee OK, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 23:36 (eight years ago) link
the other 2 contenders are not so hot either, u know

because this is about as good as it ever gets, By Grant Brisbee:

"The second thing you need to do is put some mood music on. Maybe Hospice by The Antlers. Anything from Mark Kozelek. I think I’ll start with Disintegration and move on to some Joy Division after that. Because we’ll be here for a while."
