You'd think that dudes would not be taking ANYTHING that could cost them $7M, taint their public image, be fodder for endless chants until their impending retirement upon return...
WITHOUT MAKING 100% SURE THAT THE "MEDICATION" IS NOT ON THE LIST OF BANNABLE SUBSTANCES.

Manny's suspension is under 8.D.2. of the Agreement, which provides:
D. Conviction for the Possession or Use of Prohibited Substance A Player who is convicted or pleads guilty (including a plea of nolo contendere or similar plea but not including an adjournment contemplating dismissal or a similar disposition) to the possession or use of any Prohibited Substance (including a criminal charge of conspiracy or attempt to possess or use) shall be subject to the following discipline: 2. For a second offense: at least a 120-game but not more than a one-year suspension, if the Prohibited Substance is a Performance Enhancing Substance, or at least a 30-game but not more than a 90-game suspension, if the Prohibited Substance is a Drug of Abuse (including a Stimulant);
2. For a second offense: at least a 120-game but not more than a one-year suspension, if the Prohibited Substance is a Performance Enhancing Substance, or at least a 30-game but not more than a 90-game suspension, if the Prohibited Substance is a Drug of Abuse (including a Stimulant);
The 50-game suspension would seem to indicate that it's either a Stimulant or a Drug of Abuse. If not a Stimulant, as per Shasta, it would seem to be a Drug of Abuse.

from baseball prospectus:
UPDATE 2: Two sources confirm for me that Ramirez did not test positive for an anabolic steroid. What the substance was remains unclear. The press release from MLB indicates that it was not a "drug of abuse" or a "stimulant," the other two classes of banned substances. Ramirez's positive test came during Spring Training, which follows his story that he received the substance from a doctor this January.
sort of confusing at this point

Ramirez tested positive for the substance during spring training, then had the urine – a “B” sample – tested again more recently, and it also was positive. Major League Baseball notified Ramirez of the second positive test after Wednesday night’s Dodgers victory over the Washington Nationals. Ramirez admitted to having taken the substance and declined to appeal. His 50-game suspension begins today....Ramirez, the source said, acquired the substance through a prescription from a doctor in Miami for his medical condition. The source intimated that Ramirez might bring legal action against the physician.
