I’m watching this game and the eighth inning was just relentless. What a waste of six shutout innings.

xp people are saying the slide was legit but didn’t Chase Utley break someone’s leg that way? I assume that’s their problem with it, he was a mile out

i can understand why mcneil is upset, but that is a legal slide by the letter of the law. mcneil has to step to the side or he's gonna get hit every time

utley really went out of his way -- although still within reach of the bag -- to hit tejada. hoskins just went through the bag without veering

i gotta say that was one of the slower dugout clears i’ve seen. i had time to select a tip and make it over before the bullpen fully emptied

It wasn't an utley slide, but it was 100% cynical. Late as you could be while still staying in the letter of the law. No harm no fould and seeing McNeil's temper is always good TV so I'm not fussed either way

The fact that Hoskins literally sprinted off the field and then proceeded to chirp from the safety of the dugout is all you need to know about the sanctity of that play.

I keep flipping from disgust to bemusement at Hoskins. That "whoops did I do that?" grin as he sprints of the field directly afterwards is peak scumbag but also very funny

Jimmy, Bobby Miller is a very very very good pitcher. Signs of greatness last season with some rookie troubles peppered throughout (he's the kinds guy who looked to get in his head the moment something went wrong, very emotional). Glasnow and Miller is a tough way to start the season.

I tuned into the dodgers game for a bit and holy shit did Millers stuff ever look good. Throwing in the 98-100 range and nailing his spots perfectly.

His ceiling is insanely high. Very similar to Walker Buehler. His biggest downside is he's obviously going to have to get surgery in 6 months as all dodger rookies throwing like that do

So that was not a “reaction to a bunt”. I guess it’s a rays account, so they are going to try to make the jays player look bad here - and shoving him was probably not the right reaction - but dude got thrown out a 3rd, overran the bag and then bumped into Cabrera who was backing up the play and then starting jawing at him. Cabrera did get physical after the yapping - but he’s not the one who originally got bent out of shape over nothing, and I don’t think anything here really had anything to do with the bunt.

Look I hear you, Caballero is known for being a shithouser. I chose that account cos it wasn’t one of the Jomboy-associated ones that has been promoting Trevor Bauer for months.

Caballero, when he was a Mariner, would fuck about with his pitch clock timeouts a ton. Last season he tried it with Gerrit Cole and the entire AB was incredible. Cole turned around and looked the other way while he was fucking about and then Cole struck him out and wagged his finger at the Mariners dugout in a very I Think You Should Leave fashion.

Now Gerrit Cole and José Caballero will be seeing each other much more frequently in the AL East.
