Not like "how come you didn't call that borderline call the way I want!" type garbage, but a strike down the middle is a ball and a ball 5 inches of the plate is a strike kinda garbage. So that was not a “reaction to a bunt”. I guess it’s a rays account, so they are going to try to make the jays player look bad here - and shoving him was probably not the right reaction - but dude got thrown out a 3rd, overran the bag and then bumped into Cabrera who was backing up the play and then starting jawing at him. Cabrera did get physical after the yapping - but he’s not the one who originally got bent out of shape over nothing, and I don’t think anything here really had anything to do with the bunt.

Look I hear you, Caballero is known for being a shithouser. I chose that account cos it wasn’t one of the Jomboy-associated ones that has been promoting Trevor Bauer for months.

Caballero, when he was a Mariner, would fuck about with his pitch clock timeouts a ton. Last season he tried it with Gerrit Cole and the entire AB was incredible. Cole turned around and looked the other way while he was fucking about and then Cole struck him out and wagged his finger at the Mariners dugout in a very I Think You Should Leave fashion.

Now Gerrit Cole and José Caballero will be seeing each other much more frequently in the AL East.

Had some fun (?) following Mariners-Red Sox series this weekend. The game that just finished - only one in my timezone, pain of having two west coast teams had an unusual feature - the Red Sox starter (Whitlock) was a rule 5 pickup from the Yankees and the reliever who closed the game was a rule 5 pickup from the Mets. Clemenza or Shasta might know the minutiae but given a lot of rule 5s are basically lottery tickets, I feel the likelihood of that is quite high?

Anyway, George Kirby remains elite and a sleep demon that haunts the dreams of batters. He’s got multi Cy Young potential if he stays healthy, so enjoy him now before he inevitably replaces Gerrit Cole as Yankees ace in a few years.
