Rays Rockies is wild, Rockies were winning 6-2 going into the top of the ninth, and now the Rays have scored 5 in the top of the ninth and they’ve batted around. However if any Rockie (Rocky?) can walk it off or force extras it’s probably Nolan Jones.

Yeah that particular song really nails a specific era in Chicago music history, I don't know what else you can call it except Northside hand clap music, a really really specific subgenre influenced by probably both The blues Brothers and centerfield by John fogerty and channeled through Steve goodman after one too many Bud lights in the bleachers. Respect to goodman, but it's not a good one.

Teoscar Hernandez has 14 RBI in 10 games. I'd normally just call that a fluke, but if he stays in the lineup and spends the year hitting behind Mookie/Freeman/Shoei and Will Smith, I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up knocking in 150.

yamamoto had another rough start to the game since about the fifth batter has more or less been mowing down the cubs. guys swing and miss on his fastball a lot and his breaking stuff is nasty

The shadows are definitely benefiting both pitchers; some uncharacteristically ugly hacks from good hitters esp in last few innings

I'm working on a Saturday, boo me. Anyways, I turned on the Pirates game because of the Joey Bart talk in this thread. He has stuck out looking and then swinging at both at bats that I saw. Including bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th. Pirates fans chatting Joey, Joey as I was just laughing because he can't hit. That being said, I'm rooting for him but his new fans will find out soon enough. He might hit enough not to be cut but not much more than that.

Patrick Bailey is a much better catcher than Joey Bart, arguably sure. The Giants picked the right guy. It really was between Murphy and Bart which is yet to be determined.

I like Tom Murphy a lot. I don’t really get the inclination of fans to follow players who’ve been traded off the team and hope for them to fail. Mariners fans were gloating over Kelenic’s poor spring training. Unless the player leaves under a cloud it just seems unnecessary.

I said I'm rooting for Joey Bart, it's not me to wish ill well unless they become a Dodger.
