Early on, when I was bouncing around the middle of the standings, I was dutifully moving players back and forth from the bench; I figured as long as a kept on top of that, I'd make out okay. Except for forgetting to check the occasional day--once a week, maybe--I'm still doing that, once or twice without fail, and I slide a little bit more down the standings every day. I'm 11th now, down to 77.5 points--my lowest ever, I think.

Conclusion: my players just aren't that good.

remember when i was in first place for like a month? i'm now in 10th place. i think my offensive numbers have actually gotten worse since i traded for judge (not because of judge, obviously).

I have six players on the DL, five of them were Opening Day starters on offense.

I wrote that post, and last night my team put up 12R, 4HR, 12 RBIs. Obviously my words fired up the fantasy troops.

My impressive free-fall continues: 12th-place, with last well within view. I have power (most of it from Ozuna, I think) and nothing else.

Royce Lewis has worked out spectacularly thus far--power from him, too--and it hasn't mattered a bit.

i do think there should be some sort of league system where the last place team gets a special bonus in the offseason, like maybe a big cash prize

For anyone looking for <27 keepers, I drafted a 24yo 1B currently in AAA who is currently ranked #54¹, 55², 74³ or 89th⁴ in Fantasy Dynasty/Keeper/Prospect rankings:

Spencer Torkelson (he hit 27 homeruns over Jun-Oct last year in MLB)

He is cockblocked because I have 2 *other* <27yo prospects awaiting my NA list and the other 1B I drafted as insurance has exceeded expectations.

i have a similar problem - i need some 27-29 keepers for next year! i will try to some research soon and figure out if another team is a good fit for a trade. but...i have a surplus of younger keepers and decent starting pitching, up for grabs

i feel like i already missed the boat on trading win-now guys, but i do have gausman and zack wheeler and rodon, the latter two of whom have been top 20 and top 100 all season, and the first of whom has also been good if you ignore the first awful month. my keepers for next season are pretty solid -- abrams, taj, basallo or gimenez in the young slots and acuna + jhoan or o'neill in the old slots -- but if someone wants to help me upgrade one of those slots, i got them pretty darn good pitchers

also the sheet is updated once again for the end of the month (roughly)

names i didnt bother including above in my offers but who are available include, uhh, pretty much everyone. alonso, yandy diaz, correa, winker, stanton, scherzer, bednar, etc. honestly my team looks good on paper its just been awful in practice

Watching a rare Jays inning, and I see that Tim Mayza has a 6.20 ERA. I've left him on my roster all year, untouched--he had a great spring, or a great first few games, or something, and I think I start with the assumption that all relievers in 2024 carry sub-2.00 ERAs. This is why I'm bouncing around last place.

Roused myself into cutting Mayza loose this morning.

i put a collection of keep eligible players on the block. i don't think i will be competitive this season, so i'm open to swapping a combination of >29 talent, plus any of the guys i put up for a solid <27 player.

I had four catchers on my roster this morning. Dropped one, still have three; glad to part with one in a trade. (I still tinker around for two or three minutes each morning...no real point, just habit by now.)
