Pretty simple. I'm just wondering what the breakdown is. If there isn't a team that stands out above the rest for you, don't vote.

Growing up, I saw tons of Cubs and Braves games on cable, so I know those clubs 80s-90s history pretty well. I used to follow the Cubs quite a bit and was a big fan. I haven't followed them much at all in a decade. 2004's stretch run for the Cubs really pissed me off.

Really, I am a much bigger NL baseball fan. I would watch the White Sox some on WGN growing up some. I think the White Sox gray road uniforms are about my favorite in baseball. I always liked the Tigers as a kid too, as they have some class looking uniforms and mascot, but I never really watched them play much.

Some of my first memories of baseball was the Yankees in the late 70s. I liked to watch some of Torre's early clubs as they had a pretty cool mix of young stars and vets and they had one of my favorite Reds in Paul O'Neill. I thought it was cool that those early Torre Yanks had a bunch of players I liked got a ring - Wade Boggs, Tim Raines, Cecil Fielder and Chili Davis.

earlnash, Tuesday, 24 June 2014 02:30 (eleven years ago)

Sometimes I wish this forum had more regulars so the threads were more active, but then mookie creates a list of almost every single user's rooting interests and it makes me realize nah this forum is the perfect size

Evan R, Tuesday, 24 June 2014 02:51 (eleven years ago)

barves

linda cardellini (zachlyon), Tuesday, 24 June 2014 03:05 (eleven years ago)

i try to keep one thread going and YES i realize i probably drive a lot of people crazy. sometimes i just need that outlet and i'm sorry for that.

Bee OK, Tuesday, 24 June 2014 03:52 (eleven years ago)

Nah, I'm the same way. I get so excited about some meaningless game or play or quirk or whatever and I need some outlet for sharing it, otherwise my only other options are annoy my Twitter followers with it or my poor fiance, who hates baseball

Evan R, Tuesday, 24 June 2014 04:03 (eleven years ago)

missed this too. add another BJs fan!

Porto for Pyros (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Tuesday, 24 June 2014 04:41 (eleven years ago)

i couldn't bring myself to vote for the cubs. the last days of dustco really burned me out on that team.

christmas candy bar (al leong), Tuesday, 24 June 2014 04:47 (eleven years ago)

i start the cubs threads at the beginning of each season and a couple weeks in i'm just like ah fuck it.

christmas candy bar (al leong), Tuesday, 24 June 2014 04:48 (eleven years ago)

Missed this.

Expos, obv.

Mordy, Tuesday, 24 June 2014 17:42 (eleven years ago)

missed this but i'm just another red sox person, though i've been following the nats too since 2008 or so

ciderpress, Tuesday, 24 June 2014 18:23 (eleven years ago)

It's been so long since I've lived in San Diego that my fandom is pretty weak. I know so much more about the A's and Giants because they're local to me now, and I hear them on the radio or see them on tv much more frequently than the Padres. But I can't stomach the idea of rooting for either of them against the team I've rooted for my entire life. It's more reflexive than active. Ultimately I don't really have a strong rooting interest in any team and am more likely to be a fan of specific players or managers or GMs than the laundry itself.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 24 June 2014 18:29 (eleven years ago)

I'm a disgusting savage who roots for the A's as well as the Giants. A's for life, though. I cannot resist the dulcet tones of dwayne kuiper, however.

brimstead, Tuesday, 24 June 2014 19:16 (eleven years ago)

Thinwall and NoTime are much better Jays fans than I am. I'm a guy who was spoiled by a great decade, only pays attention now when they're winning, bails at the first bump in the road, and is more or less the definition of a bandwagon-jumper/fair-weather fan.

clemenza, Tuesday, 24 June 2014 23:38 (eleven years ago)

I think I got you beat, clem: the last 9 innings I watched were in the 2012 WS -- and probably not even in the clinching game.

Call the Doctorb, the B is for Brownstein (Leee), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 00:46 (eleven years ago)

so that is the reason why you are missing in action.

Bee OK, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 01:09 (eleven years ago)

mos def not a barves fan, i used to be a jays fan in 1992, fuck the barves

99% sure i voted for the mariners, i just keep loving those lovable losers (plus out of the 3 mlb stadiums i have watched a game at it was the only good one (sup skydome (sup big o)))
