Felix shutout last night was his first CG in three years

Thu, May 7

Kyle Seager went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run homer in Wednesday's 4-3 setback across from the Angels.

Advice: Seager very nearly won this game single-handedly for Seattle. His two-run shot off C.J. Wilson was all the Mariners could muster off the left-hander tonight and, down 3-2 in the ninth, Seager led off with a double against Huston Street. He eventually scored on a sac fly to tie the game at threes. Unfortunately, he was ultimately cast as Sisyphus when Seattle's bullpen frittered the game away shortly thereafter.

Amazing sentence.

@ckamka Nelson Cruz has 40 HR & 0 sacrifice flies this season. Only Adam Dunn (46 HR, 2004) has had 40+ HR, 0 SF season since SF first tracked 1954

johnny crunch, Wednesday, 16 September 2015 13:13 (nine years ago)

he also only has 4 grounded into double plays currently (590 PA)

johnny crunch, Wednesday, 16 September 2015 13:13 (nine years ago)

both i guess could be attributed to a lack of base runners?

AKA Thermo Thinwall (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 16 September 2015 15:00 (nine years ago)

Yeah, 42 HR, only 88 RBI suggests he hasn't had all that many people on base for him to drive in.

@jimcaple
Mariners making 9th manager change since 2002. Twins have had 3 since 1986, Atlanta 2 since 1990, Cards 6 since 1981.

Dipoto respect for McClendon but "after extensive conversations it became clear that our baseball philosophies were not closely aligned"
