Is there a lot of parity this year, or is it just me?

The AL and NL East are all bunched up. The standings in the AL Central are upside down. Which team (in either league) looks either really strong or really weak right now?

This might be another .400< every team <.600 year.

this is what Sheehan wrote last week:

MLB has spent most of the 2000s working towards NFL-style competitive balance, and that’s what it has. Whether that’s best for baseball remains to be seen—-the game is at its best when great teams fight out great races in the regular season—-but it does provide a heaping helping of hope and faith.

eleven months pass...

It's not even the weekend yet, and there are just two undefeated teams, two winless teams, a whole crapload of 2-2 teams ... it's gonna be a parity paradise in 2009.

at least wait until may before you decide that..

I think it's safe to assume there are at least two divisions where the winner will not get to 90 wins possibly even 85.

five years pass...

Is there more parity this year than usual? Ten of the fifteen AL teams have run differentials between -10 and +10.
