Rooting Dodgers here, but don't want either team to win a game after this series.

Exit, pursued by Yogi Berra (WilliamC), Tuesday, 6 October 2015 14:08 (nine years ago)

anyone but the Dodgers and their 320 million.

Bee OK, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 14:09 (nine years ago)

The Mets are a great story, but I want to see Kershaw and Greinke as often as possible--I most want to see the Jays against the Dodgers in the WS, see our hitters up against those two.

clemenza, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 14:10 (nine years ago)

picked L.A., would be fine either way - mets for hometown loyalty, dodgers to see as many kershaw/greinke starts as possible, plus the possibility of the puig show and the new aggrieved columns it would undoubtedly provoke

slothroprhymes, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 14:20 (nine years ago)

mets i guess, if only for morbs

Matt Harvey was the only Met who didn't show up for a mandatory meeting

Sandy Alderson on Matt Harvey: "Until we find out a little more about his absence, I prefer not to comment."

skateboards are the new combover (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 6 October 2015 18:56 (nine years ago)

how many playoff series have there been between teams that were both no-hit twice that season

mookieproof, Wednesday, 7 October 2015 16:03 (nine years ago)

getting home field was kind of a big deal for the dodgers.. I still insist the mets are a mirage because the nl east was a cauldron of poop but we'll see..

I guess the main reason Im excited about home field is the game is on at 6:30 and not fucking noon or 3.

NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully underwent what the team is calling "a recommended medical procedure" on Thursday morning, and on the advice of his doctors will not call any Dodgers games this postseason.

Beating Kershaw is huge

Bee OK, Saturday, 10 October 2015 04:13 (nine years ago)

Kershaw blows up in the 7th inning in a playoff game AGAIN.

When a guy with a 7.5 K/BB ratio walks the bases loaded, something is clearly not right, you have no choice but to take him out. He was making horrible pitches too, you can't blame the umps for squeezing him, he'd get two strikes and then nothing was even close.

velko, Friday, 16 October 2015 05:37 (nine years ago)

dodgers will be fine.. all the hot takes are pissing me off.

we. got. beat.

panettone for the painfully alone (mayor jingleberries), Friday, 16 October 2015 17:12 (nine years ago)

kershaw and greinke should be a dominant 1-2 for a few more years assuming they keep the latter. kershaw this season, dang. if he'd started strong he'd definitely be taking home the cy and who knows what his stat line would have been?

nomar, Friday, 16 October 2015 17:17 (nine years ago)

xp yeah i can't see them being anything less than a perennial contender and division winner for at least 5 to 6 more years.

by hot takes, i'm guessing you mean "fire mattingly"-type talk? i don't think he's exactly a bad manager, and in terms of clubhouse stewardship he's a pretty good one, but there are def areas in which he needs to improve that i don't necessarily see improving.

slothroprhymes, Friday, 16 October 2015 17:31 (nine years ago)

the problem is I dont know who out there is better? and if friedman was champing at the bit to fire mattingly why didn't he throw a money bomb at maddon when he was available?

either way Im disappointed but we're on the upswing.. per Stan Kasten there's two phases to the rebuild - the first phase was to take on all those retarded red sox contracts to see what they could do with them until they have time to rebuild the farm system. now the team has a top 5 farm, joc, seager, urias, de leon, etc etc and ONE HUNDRED FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS coming off the books this year. just need to resign greinke and we'll be back next year.

hopefully I'm not nats-ing us.

panettone for the painfully alone (mayor jingleberries), Friday, 16 October 2015 17:49 (nine years ago)

i read plaschke's column (i was bored) and amazingly it wasn't as bad as a certain pittsburgh column after the pirates' loss

for all that ppl go on about 'even a great hitter fails 70% of the time' they can't seem to fathom that great teams also lose short series -- and that it doesn't make firing everyone/blowing up the team a reasonable response

mookieproof, Friday, 16 October 2015 18:01 (nine years ago)

losing all the dead money of the kemp, gordon, haren and LOL BRIAN FUCKING WILSON (forgot he was still on the payroll) will be big, and i cant see them needing or wanting to bring back j-roll, chutley or brett anderson. kendrick is a question mark more for injury risk than quality of play, i guess

thinking about it, i don't think donnie baseball should be fired but i kinda think he's more on the ropes than ever before due to guggenheim group impatience. having read molly knight's dodgers book, i know he's teetered kinda every season (sometimes unjustly) and this might get them to say fuck it

slothroprhymes, Friday, 16 October 2015 18:07 (nine years ago)

Greinke didn’t shift to the stretch until well into Murphy’s at-bat. With the count 3 and 1, he threw a fastball from the stretch that Murphy lined foul. Just before his next pitch, another fastball, TV analyst Ron Darling said, “It’s almost like Greinke’s giving him another look by pitching in the stretch.”
