I know it's early, but I'm tied for 37th.

Not feeling great about calling 79 wins for the Padres right now...

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 13 May 2008 14:39 (seventeen years ago)

The person who is 42nd is not me (at least I don't think so).

Andy K, Tuesday, 13 May 2008 15:07 (seventeen years ago)

I'm tied for 287th. Morbs, if you think you've got it bad, I called 87 wins for the Pads! (also 76 for Oakland, 75 for the Rays, 84 for Colorado (which is particularly indefensible in hindsight))

NoTimeBeforeTime, Wednesday, 14 May 2008 10:30 (seventeen years ago)

I've got 82 wins for the Rockies; despite the Tulowitzki situation, I still think they *could* recover to win about 75.

two weeks pass...

what is obama's VORP?

gabbneb, Friday, 30 May 2008 19:58 (seventeen years ago)

VORP sets replacement presidential value very low, so I would think that Obama's pretty high up there.

Alex in SF, Friday, 30 May 2008 21:31 (seventeen years ago)

Note: Presidential VORP is calculated differently from hitter and pitcher VORP. A lot of statisticians prefer SNVAR (Support Neutral Votes Above Replacement) which takes into account a President's Congress.

three weeks pass...

Everybody's point total is climbing now that the Yankees (and others)are rising.

one month passes...

I'm up to 283rd place (the last time I checked, I was lurking near the bottom in the 600's), and my Indians pick is ruining everything (although a lot of people can say that).

NoTimeBeforeTime, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 13:09 (seventeen years ago)

like me!

yet I'm tied for 123rd... no team has cost me more than 17 pts, save the Tribe (42).

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 13:25 (seventeen years ago)

It seems like everyone is off by 15-20 wins with the Tribe and the deciding factor will just come down to who picked them as their Mortal Lock (i.e. it'll probably be hard for anyone to crack the top 50 with a big fat Cleveland (-40) as their Mortal Lock).

BALTIMORE YOU OVERACHIEVING LOSERS

Also, the POS Cardinals can blow me.

Actually, all bird teams can perch themselves on the precarious lip of a wood chipper.

David R., Wednesday, 6 August 2008 14:02 (seventeen years ago)

Cool yr boots Daver, Baltimore overachieves every year. Then the calendar flips over to August.

NoTimeBeforeTime, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 14:13 (seventeen years ago)

also, as soon as the Pads leave NY, I need them to play .600 rest of the way... Nationals, ditto.

Arizona getting 90 wins would also help.
