should larry bowa be fired?

ok, it's conventional wisdom (sorta) that what's holding back the phillies is larry bowa. i still kinda love him b/c of his connection to the 1980 phillies ... but maybe his detractors are right?

why am i fooling myself ... i'm like the only phillies fan here anyway :-0

me gusta los felipes! nah, if the phils can't make waves this year, then bowa's goose is cooked. wagner's a huge pick up. i mean, they might have snagged the wild card last year w/ a competent closer (ummm...like urbina?), but wagner's money. i would wager he's good for at least +5 wins.

...though burrell has to pick it up, too.

He is GONZO in mid-May. IT'S A FACT!

yeah, wagner WAS a good pick-up. but shit, just by not having JOSE MESA back the phillies bullpen improved.

dunno whether bowa will be gone in mid-may ... that depends on how well they do, doesn't it? then again, all those bowa phillies teams have had that history of fading down the stretch -- e.g., the collapse to the marlins last year was INEXCUSABLE. if the phillies were owned by steinbrenner, bowa would've been history for that ALONE.

one year passes...
what's this i hear? bowa's joining bbtn?

hilarity will, most assuredly, ensue.

From what I heard from Bowa during the World Series, he'll be the shining star of that entire group of remedial misfits (aside from Peter Gammons, who could start speaking gibberish & still be the most respectable analyst behind that desk). Please note that I'll say the same thing re: Bobby V's tenure @ ESPN, & he's an asshat.

"start""?!?!?!?!?! I think "Twins over Cubs in WS" is already gibberish.

I like to draw a line between PG in print & PG in person. Even if he's saying the same things in person, it just sounds better. Tho, yeah, Twinkies over Cubbies is a bit alskiua8alki1ls.
