I'll be travelling the next two weeks, but will still be popping into the thread – but I've also granted Will co-comish status, so he can help out too if needed.

Here's the rules:
• total of 5 keepers
• 2 of which must be 27, 28 or 29 yrs old
• another 2 players 26 or under
• one final keeper that can be either (basically anyone under the age of 30)
• age is based on that year's opening date (May 29, this year)
• for a player to be keep-eligible he must have been drafted on draft day by your team or traded to you by a team that drafted him. that means:
• free agent/waiver pick-ups cannot be kept
• if you have less than 5 keepers, you will get an extra draft pick at the end of the draft.

oh yeah that reminds me! the ages on my spreadsheet are not always 100% accurate! they were originally based on opening day of whatever year i started it, and players added later are based on THAT year's opening day, so since it changes slightly every year, they might not be 100% accurate. if you're unsure, google your own players. i'll actually unfilter the players marked as "old".

or maybe just unfilter everyone 30 or less, if they're marked 30 and too old jsut google thme to confirm it's true

ok i have already caught a lot of errors just googling. i will try to rectify this list to the best of my ability soon. degrom and kimbrel so far are not listed @ the correct age. anyone know a fuckin' excel sheet somewhere with every player's birthdate? lol

I just blasted thru the whole keeper-eligible list and made some changes, mostly players born in march/april had messed up birthdates. ages across the board went down, and a few players became "keeper eligible" once i fixed it. have a look again if you only looked once! omar you can keep degrom too!

i also had jose ramirez like 3 years older than he should be because at some point there was another jose ramirez

just putting this out there – if anyone with a young arm (Martinez, Syndergaard, etc) are interested in making a swap once the season starts, let me know. i'm going to try to address my keeper pitching issues in the draft, but i'm not crazy about my options (or the competition for young guys i'll think i might be facing).

You’re out of luck there - no defunct franchises laying around. You’d be the second new team this year tho, so you’ll have some company with building from the ground up.

so I'm officially putting Scherzer and DeGrom on the market in exchange for a good keeper (they're ranked #1 and #7 in pitching btw!!!) Greinke too, but I doubt he's super interesting to anyone. actually the rest of my team probably isn't very interesting beyond the keepers I won't trade.

ugh, despite my solid keepers my season is lost. went in with a bunch of promising options for my 4th/5th slot (mookie/arenado/judge being the big 3)... and they're dropping like flies due to injury or sucking. Alex Reyes, probably Shohei Ohtani, Ken Giles, Rougned Odor... worst part is, now would be when I start dismantling my team for next year, but I don't really have anyone worth offering up. Not looking for for the ol' Trap.

Well anyway if you're making a run for it and anyone not named Aaron, Mookie or Nolan interests you, I could probably stand to upgrade Hosmer & Robles I guess? as my 2019 keepers at each age bracket, so get at me!

On the block: Scherzer, Greinke, DeGrom, Marco Gonzales. A quality rotation could be yours for the right price!

Also: Gattis, Kemp, Franco, Molina...beyond that my offense is keeping me down and I doubt anyone would want any other non-keepers.

hey man i made some wild-ass trades in years past, remember when i gave up bryce harper and won the league?

that said i have 4 sick keepers this year and my team is trash so there's virtually no reason for me to make a trade, but if someone wants one of my non-keepers and they'll put up a 27-29 dude i'm game! i'll also try to update the keeper sheet today if i have some time

With only 13 teams in the league there are a lot of good unclaimed FA's and less incentive to make trades.

I think all of us are really protective of our keeper eligible guys and don't want to trade them away unless there's a really good chance of winning the league. These kinds of trades happened in the past when the top three teams were more closely bunched.

Yeah, the realy parity is in the middle... I just went from like 10th to 3rd in ~3 days.

the story of my season today in a nutshell: ridiculous pitching (Eduardo-Rod: 5 IP, 11 K, 0 ER, 11:1 K/BB ratio), and 0-15 with one run scored from the offense.

I had the best ERA in the league coming into this game and Glasnow's 0.2 IP outing was enough to move my season ERA a full quarter of a run.

The WHIP race is insane right now: 4 teams within <0.01 at the top.

also, i just randomly discovered the league record book today! kinda fun to poke around (fun fact: i hold the all time, single-day strikeout record at 40).

Kept expecting to get overtaken - must have lost like 30 pts in the 2nd half. Gerrit Cole and Suarez got me through. Thanks for the league! All those years of tanking paid off!

Frustrating year for me (every SP was injured at some point, etc.) but congrats bnw for dominating for most of the year and a well deserved win.

I learned a lot (namely that you should draft keepers in a keeper-league) yet I tried to give it a go and make it interesting (which didn't really happen). Impressively dominant win B!
