The Detroit Tigers probably aren't quite as bad in 2020

A win this weekend could prove it!

The Detroit Tigers’ losing streak against the Cleveland ******* could reach a historic mark this weekend.

Detroit begins a three-game series in Cleveland on Friday having lost 20 straight against its AL Central foe dating back to April 2019.

The MLB record for the longest winning streak over one team is 23 games, set by the Baltimore Orioles over the Kansas City Royals in 1969-1970. The ******* can tie that mark with a sweep.

I genuinely don’t know when we’ll get a win. Sometime in the Minn series?

The Tigers, flirting with mediocrity/contention, welcome Dazmon Jaroid "Daz" Cameron, son of Mike Cameron.

three years pass...

Four years on, there are definitely reasons for optimism. They have a legit starting rotation and a very solid bullpen. Their hitters are mostly young but promising. I think they're in a comparable position to that of the Orioles a couple years ago: coming together, competitive, but a year or two away from real success.

Fielding has been surprisingly sloppy lately. Four errors so far today, two on Báez.

oh man did andy not even start a tigers thread this year?

mookieproof, Sunday, 28 April 2024 02:17 (one year ago)

This was the latest one I could find.

Taking two out of three from this year's Royals squad is very encouraging. The bats really came through this weekend.

Huh. I searched "Detroit Tigers" and didn't see that one. I must have missed it. Oh, well.

The guy who took the last one was seated in front of us, a real hardcore Tigers fan. He was alone--we thought he might have been a season-ticket holder--and hi-fiving us like crazy during the comeback.

"Just squint harder--that little tiny speck of blue on the grass."

Sorry--wish they were better.

I was there too! But way higher up in the the stands & left at the start of the the 9th, doh!

Oh, man...Not that I blame you; L.A. had a win probability of 99% going into the bottom of the 9th. Happily, we had a long drive ahead anyway and were in no particular rush to get back.
