i think i first heard about kim ng like 15 years ago and people were suggesting that she was qualified for a gm job back then. this is great.

it's pretty cool! but also she is going to be just another GM who refuses to spend money on winning because winning doesn't matter

We talked a lot about her on the Marlins thread or the Hot Stove thread a couple seasons back.

Always felt like she got short shrift, she was effectively demoted by the Marlins' asshole owner after she constructed a playoff team with one of the lowest payrolls in the game ($68M, #20 in MLB, 2023 avg was $101M)

tough to succeed under certain ownership scenarios (marlins/pirates/rockies/a's) and then (nationals/white sox/angels . . . orioles?) i mean even our beloved Captain bailed on the marlins

but it's always instructive to see who (like ben fucking cherington) gets multiple chances while kim ng is left to run a women's league
