He's walking a good amount and not striking out much. He rates pretty well in exit velocity and barrels. I think he'll figure it out but it's definitely been rough.

I also feel there is something about coming to the NY market that is a shift. But yeah, he hasn't hit well so far. His defense has been good though.

i love lindor and even tho he's a met i still have a hard time rooting for him to fail, but his slash numbers have been pretty concerning for a bit now even dating back to last season. his SLG percentage has fallen off a cliff and if he's not providing elite power at that position he's kinda just... a high AVG/low OBP shortstop getting into his 30s... it feels pretty dicey to me longterm. they really need him to be an MVP level player for the next 4-5 years because the back half of that contract is gonna be ugly given the type of player he is

deGrom is going to do what Kluber and Donaldson looked like they might do (but almost certainly won't now): get into the HOF on an astounding peak value after the age of 27.

He still needs to play 3 more years to be eligible, and may need a Cy young / no hitter / post season heroics along the way to really seal the deal. But he is definitely on the path.

i can't back it up with stats really but i feel like hefner's gotta go. well i did try and see if i could quantify it this morning. doesn't seem total # of pitches thrown by team exists as a stat but bref has a number of pitches thrown per inning and fox sports (!) has a pitches per game stat. mets are in the top three. i don't think throwing the 3rd most pitches per game is good with how many injuries they've had. just my opinion!
