what is the most boring MLB matchup?

for me, pirates vs reds

neither team has won a playoff series in 30 years. (the pirates did beat the reds in a wild-card game 10 years ago, but still)

neither team is trying. they play in a boring division. their owners are both awful. but i think what puts it over the top is that the reds have the most incredibly boring uniforms

i will however give props to amir garrett for charging the pirates dugout in 2019

needless to say, they're opening against each other

pirates' opening-day starter is mitch keller, who is 12-29 with a 5.00 career ERA

reds are starting hunter greene, who is actually v. interesting, but rather less so since the reds refused to let him hit/play the field

I turned on the Reds/Pirates game because I saw that Hunter Greene was throwing 105, and it made me realize that a guy's gotta throw 108 to make me watch Reds/Pirates

for me it’s like rockies-diamondbacks. very boring teams that don’t even have much of a team legacy. colorado is probably a nice enough place but arizona is just nothing. trying to think if i name four players across both teams off the top of my head.

reds and pirates both have individual players i enjoy at least.
