is this term only ever used for pitches that get smoked? otherwise known as a slider? i've heard joe morgan and sutcliff both use it only in this way, but no one else, in any way whatever.

The best thing BucCarver has said this postseason is "Edmonds coined that catch." Which is a helluva dumb thing to say, but much more likely to catch on with the kids than "slide-piece."
