I only went in March '84 -- Mets and Cards were both based in St. Petersburg (got Strawberry's autograph). If I do it again, it'd have to be in a pedestrian-friendly city (ie, the Mets' current home of Port St Lucie is out).

I might go to Jupiter this year :)

When my grandparents had a place in Ft. Lauderdale, I went to see the Orioles play.

Some players were signing autographs near us, I didn't know any of the guys but my brother decided to get signatures anyway. It turned out that one of them was Gregg Olson, who won the Rookie of the Year Award that year.

I once spent time w/ a community college baseball team down in FLA at one of the Astros' training facilities. (My dad was the coach.) Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh. (That's for the cockroaches & the crappy beds.)

Haven't seen any MLB Spring Training action up close & personal, though. I'd love to see major league players kicking it minor league style.

I talked about this before, but I used to see the White Sox in Florida all the time when I was a kid. My mom still has the pictures somewhere.

I've literally never heard anybody say they prefer Florida. As awful as the highways in the Phoenix area can be, at least you can drive to all the ballparks in less than an hour. And the weather's better, too.

true, but normal people probably aren't trying to get to 'all the ballparks'
