I can understand the push thematically, but geographically Anaheim is 30 miles south of LA in an entirely different county.

I guess there is a bit of precident. That one goof from Denver had a decent idea on Around the Horn that the Angels should go by the O.C. Angels (for Orange County).

Apr 7 Bob Watson, baseball's vice president for on-field operations, spoke to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim general manager Bill Stoneman Friday, April 6, in regards to a blogger's accusations that CL Francisco Rodriguez had doctored the ball in the series against the Texas Rangers. Manager Mike Scioscia said Watson told Stoneman the matter was not being investigated, according to the Associated Press.

So K-Rod (if healthy) has pretty much guaranteed probability of breaking Thigpen's season saves record.
He got his 42nd save today with 62% of the season complete vs Thigpen's 57.
He needs 16 in the next 61 games.
