60-102 is still a possibility. After last year's surprise, watching the local fans and media turn on Hicks to an even greater degree would be sweet.

I suspect, given the payroll trending and hesitancy to lock up Teixeira that Hicks may turn the Rangers into the late-Selig era Brewers over the next few years.

Does anybody remember the story from a couple of years ago when Richard Hidalgo was car-jacked and shot through the forearm in front of his home in Venezuela? Well, in a shocking follow up to that story, a local talk radio guy was recounting a recent conversation with Cesar Cedeno, who was in town from his home in Venezuela this past weekend for the 25-year reunion of the '80 Astros division championship team, in which Cedeno claimed that Hidalgo hired a hit-man to go after the guy who shot him and apparently, mission accomplished. I can only hope this is just a rumor.

Not really. Like I said, it was a local radio guy who said on-air that Cesar Cedeno had told him about this. Actually, sounds like a pretty irresponsible thing to say on the air if you don't have any real confirmation. Also, he said you can hire a hit man in Venezuela for about $20.

I really want to sympathize with Rogers (following my two primary baseball rules: "side with the player(s)" and "side with anyone who hates Tom Hicks"), and was when he Hicks & Co. leaked that he was threatening to retire without an extension (probably BS) but the extravagant contract demands, smacking photographers, etc. makes it tough.
