I know this is Old Man Yelling at Clouds, but it kills me when baseball writers are more fluent in stats than in English. Headline today on Battery Power: "How bad is the Braves' homer deluge?" In which the writer thinks "deluge" is the right word because it implies something bad, when in fact it means exactly the opposite of what he meant to convey. I came THIS close to registering to comment so I could set this illiterate straight! But then I caught myself.
