It's official: this year's crop of writers are completely on crack. Basically every award has had major embarassments ... this time, we've got Pettite and Oswalt in a virtual tie with CHAD CORDERO and nowhere near the top dogs.

Chad Cordero was incredible this year, though. He performed his particular role as well as anyone in baseball.

Except the writers only default to relievers when they feel that no starters had great seasons. That means there are writers out there who aren't convinced that Petitte and Oswalt were very good this year.

(Cordero was excellent though)
