three weeks pass...
my understanding is they turned down manny/clement and a boatload of money for miggy. they're holding out for papelbon or lester who are untouchable.
i also heard that jim hendry pretty much told the o's to shit or get off the pot in regards to the prior for miggy swap. cubs seem desperate to trade prior which is kind of strange to me. until i remember dusty is still the manager.

cubs are also (seemingly) only offering prior and demanding tejada and bedard in return and that is most assuredly not happening. i read something similar about the cubs being frustrated, but it sounds like they maybe need to clean the wax out of their ears. i mean, if the o's wouldn't trade bedard more or less straight up for adam dunn, what makes hendry think they'd package him w/ their best player?

I don't remember the Prior for Tejada + Bedard rumors, but I'm sure I would have been very opposed to the trade at the time.
