I guess the money is starting to run out.

Like Strawberry, Canseco had potential hall of fame skills and pretty much pissed them away.

Unlike Canseco, it seemed that Strawberry was somewhat liked by his teammates, despite his problems off the field.

There is no way the Dodgers will give Canseco the time of day.

apparently he's backing away from publicizing his book, he (like MJ) had an "emergency to deal with" and bowed out of a book tour and media exposure this week (ie, the week his book hits the stands).

Who saw the 60 Minutes interview? I only saw a clip where Mike Wallace took him to task for writing that he "often" injected McGwire with steroids, when in fact it was only twice (which came out in the interview).

If more elements of his story will fall apart under actual questioning, then I'm not surprised he's chickening out.

A good portion of the pre-release press I've seen features quotes and insinuations that are total hearsay, like that Bret Boone thing about "gosh, he LOOKS bigger", and casting aspersions on Clemens & other folks because of their physique (like THAT hasn't been done before), and now that bit MIR quotes from 60 Minutes. Yeah, Jose, eyeball a bunch of players, look for guys w/ the barrel chest, and then put it in your tell-all book about steroid abuse as if it's fact, you stupid tampon. This is more like Seduction of the Innocent (someone trying to freak people out by making connections and assertions that are spurious at best, and woefully ill-informed at worst) than Ball Four (someone telling it like it is), for damn sure.
