A's case I thought (hoped) that the Angels pitching injuries would open the door for someone else in the division and I was hoping that Holliday enhanced the A's offense would be adequate enough for the task. Boy was I wrong.

For D-backs I thought the pitching would be good and the young guys would step up and they were best of the rest of the NL. Obv Webb getting hurt kind of changed the pitching being good part of that equation.

They were deece in 08 but then Webb missed the season with injuries, Haren couldn't carry the team singlehandedly and Upton slumped, among many other things. also nl west was sorts of suck in 08 and dbags were young and turned it on in the end of the season.
