three recent ones

1. up three in the 8th, dusty baker allows david weathers - DAVID WEATHERS! - to pitch to pujols with the bases loaded and pujols promptly smashes a ball to left center

2. in a 1-1 tie, with runners on first and third and no outs, ken macha green lights todd coffey - pujols promptly mashes a double down the line giving the cardinals a 2-1 lead

3. today, down 1-0, with a runner on first and no outs, lou pinella allows rich harden to pitch to pujols - not only that, he throws him an inside fastball - and albert rips a ball down the line for a triple and scoring the runner from first

basically they should NEVER pitch to him EVER unless the bases are loaded and the opposing team is up 6+ runs or the bases are empty and the team is up 2+ runs

and if you're going to pitch to him in the third inning or something - NEWS FLASH HERE - do NOT throw him an inside fastball - just an fyi

Did Pujols somehow get faster this year or is he just getting better at picking his spots? He legged out that triple (I don't know how close it was, I'm listening on the radio), he has 10 steals already..

the triple was def because soriano is horrible at fielding and couldn't get the ball out of the corner fast enough but i think the word on him is that he's always been really smart at picking his spots on the bases - the 10 steals i think is that pitchers still routinely don't even think of pujols as a sb threat so he takes advantage of that - maybe one day ppl will learn

Pujols has always been really good at taking the extra base according to everything I've read.

"sb threat" - haha, sorry.

I wish we could just lock in Pujols for a career contract. I don't think I can face the day when he's not a Cardinal.

add "no one on, no outs" to the list of situations in which you should've walked Pujols.

Hey you'll never guess who just hit a home run.

this was one of the worst things i've ever seen - if i was a reds fan at that game i would've charged dusty baker in the dugout
