Today was the fourth 1-0 loss he's taken this year, although none were complete games (six innings twice, seven twice).

Trying to give that some context, I've found that a) Hershiser in '89 was the last to lose 1-0 four times in a season, and b) Posnanski wrote a column on 1-0 games a couple of years ago:
http://joeposnanski.blogspot.ca/2011/09/whole-lot-about-1-0-games.html
Haven't been able to find out if anyone's ever had more than four in a season.

Turns out Fergie Jenkins lost five 1-0 games in, no surprise, 1968. He pitched 7, 6 (those two were back-to-back), 8, 7, and 9 innings. He also had a 10-inning no-decision that the Cubs went on to lose 1-0 in the bottom of the 11th. 47 IP, 5 earned runs, 0-5 with a no-decision.

Roger Craig, of course, lost six 1-0 games w/ the '63 Mets.

There you go--thanks. I've never associated the '62 Mets with close, well-pitched games like that.

'63 was different than '62 -- as the Mound Era intensified, the league average of total runs in a game nosedived from 9.0 to 7.6. The Mets' Runs Against total was easily the worst in the NL both years; their Pythag record was actually worse in '63 bcz they played 162 instead of 160, and underperformed by ten wins in '62.
Craig was decent in both years, and a pitcher named Carl Willey actually had a 4.2 WAR in '63.

...and the '63 Mets were shut out 30 times.

Matthew Kory, BP:
Yu Darvish is the fastest to 500 strikeouts in major-league history. I was going to turn this into an Astros joke, but turns out he has the most against Anaheim. Whatever, ha ha Astros!

Note where the cell phone is in that picture. It means he didn't just lie down and pass out, but probably toppled over like a tree and couldn't get up, and his cell phone went flying.
