There definitely is a boom bust cycle going on with Brad Lidge. Who would have ever thought he would have been able to live down that neck breaker when Albert Pujols hit that moon shot in the playoffs? He got a second act, which as said by F. Scott Fitzgerald said isn't possible in America.

i feel vv lucky that i didn't have room for four relief pitchers on my fantasy staff today because i had four starters going, and i chose to bench lidge.

So Madson comes in instead of Lidge tonight and.. blows the save. This guys numbers are awesome yet he can't seem to close out games. Im usually one to hate on 'closer mentality' bullshit but damn..

yet he still pitches! for a while i thought he was going to be bj ryan'd.

if only lidge was dominican it would be so easy to solve this problem. they could have his family kidnapped, they could release him for "lying" about his age, they could just frame him for murder. the world would be their oyster.

I've never heard telecasters blast a plate umpire like the Marlins' (awesome) telecast last night.

That half of the inning, there were a couple really bad strike calls -- one of which led to John Baker getting ejected -- that made the Marlins' guys livid. Apparently it had been going on all game.
